Oregon is a dream elopement destination! The beaches provide an endless horizon, making a timeless backdrop to declare your love. There’s something so especially romantic about the calm, lapping waves of the pacific northwest. I spent a large part of my childhood on the cliffs of Oregon beaches, and I jump at any chance to visit. Sandy toes, wind whipped faces, salty air- its such a sensory filled experience!

Film photography allows for more intentional sessions, and creates an exciting of element of  “wait and see” in a world where we are so used to instant gratification. I offer it in my sessions in addition to digital photography, it’s just something special you can’t really replicate! It makes it a little more gritty, as if you can feel the scenery.

Having the opportunity to learn alongside one of the photographer greats Anni Graham, and photograph this elopement on the Oregon Coast was a dream. It’s where I fell in love with film and movement. Creating images beyond the standard, and infusing them with feeling. Film has captivated me since college and I always want to keep it a part of my photo storytelling.

I’m already looking forward to more elopement adventures on the Oregon Coast this summer! Utah keeps me grounded, but no other place makes me feel alive quite like the Pacific Northwest.
